Night 1: The Lucky Beret

I arrived at Hong Kong on a Friday night. Not wasting any time, my friend Maggie took me to Lan Kwai Fong after dinner. "Wow this is crazy!", I said. There were so many people on the street. "Just wait til you see tomorrow", Maggie replied. It was the night we found the lucky hats.

Day 1: Wan Chai Baby

Began the day with breakfast at a creperie then Maggie toured me around her neighbourhood Wan Chai. There are a lot of nice shops there for shopping, cafes and restaurants. I love all the random graffiti that you don't get in Singapore. Another thing I saw which was uncommon in SG was a protest march. While I was taking a picture, this guy was walking by and he chatted with us for a while. He told me to go to CMPB at Dempsey Hill. I bought a delicious chocolate cake from Sift.

Night 2: Fun Coincidence

We went to the Peak to soak in the lovely view of Hong Kong. Then we took a ferry ride to Kowloon side to watch the light show. Hong Kong's iconic skyline is more expansive than Singapore. We went to my friend's boss's dinner party where we had delicious Indian food. Then it was back to Lan Kwai Fong where something amazing happened. I saw my friend Nina randomly who I was supposed to meet on Monday night.

Day 2 + Night 3

I woke up pretty late and felt really lazy so I caught a 5 PM ferry to Macau. It was night time when I arrived. I never plan trips so I spontaneously took a bus and ended up in Macau Tower where there was a massive food festival. I ate egg tarts for dinner. It was already pretty late so I only walked through the casinos and didn't play anymore. Most of the time was spent hunting down Koi Kei Almond Cookies for my friend Jeff. Compared to HK, Macau was so cold!

Day 3 + Night 4: Ocean Park

Spent my last day in HK at Ocean Park. The weather became a lot cooler overnight. I thought the Hair Raiser was an excellent roller coaster because not only is it an exhilarating ride, you also get a fantastic view of HK. I met an English girl who was also there on her own who warned me not to go on The Dragon because it sucked. I wish I listened to her. The Abyss was another epic ride that I would've ridden a million more times if I didn't have a headache. I was already on my way back when I realized my lucky beret was missing. My headache miraculously vanished because of the adrenaline backtracking my steps. I managed to find it again which is why it is a lucky beret indeed. My last meal at HK was a yummy risotto with my friend Nina at a contemporary Japanese restaurant at Sheung Wan.

Day 5: Goodbye

When I got home, I was looking through one of the art brochures I got and spotted a logo that my friend Andrea and I made! It was a brilliant end to the trip.
