Sleepless in Seattle

My first stop in the US was Seattle because I had family there. The rainy Seattle in my mind did not match the one I arrived to in the middle of summer. Although I was only there a short time, I ended up loving it. If I couldn't live in SF, I would be fine living here.

One of the things I did there was watch The Dark Knight in IMAX at the Pacific Science Center. I was obsessed with that movie at that time.

I loved going around Seattle. It was so different from the Manila that I was used to. I'm sad that I lost half my pictures in downtown Seattle. I got pranked at Pike Place Market when they threw a fake fish at me and ordered coffee at the first ever Starbucks. The boy in the pictures is my cute cousin.

My aunt had a dream about this place that when she saw it, she would meet the man she would marry. True enough, she ended up meeting my uncle.

Winter

After my semester in San Francisco, I flew back to Seattle to spend Christmas, my birthday and new year's eve with my relatives. The amount of snow was more than usual. It's always been a dream of mine to see snow but it loses its magic after a while. You get bored staying home all the time! I hate this picture of me because you can see all the weight I gained.

Universal Studios

Immediately after leaving our luggage at the hotel, my friends and I didn't want to waste the day and rushed to Universal Studios. I was surprised at the cold weather of LA, I didn't pack the right clothes. The lines were thankfully short because it was Thanksgiving Weekend. I enjoyed the Studio Tour with all its crazy special effects but my favourite ride was The Simpsons. I think the Battlestar Galactica ride at Singapore is still the best Universal Studios ride ever.

The next day was Black Friday and we spent it in a predictable American way: shopping.

I couldn't possibly go to LA without visiting the happiest place on earth. The rides were disappointing, except for Space Mountain which was worth the very long queue. We even spotted some NBA players! It's not LA unless you spot the famous people.

The most memorable food on the trip was definitely the iconic Pinks hotdog.

I spent the last few hours in LA running around Hollywood trying to visit all the landmarks like a marathon tourist. I ended up with a giant headache in the rush. Although I was only there for a few days to make a judgment, I think LA is fun to visit, but I definitely prefer SF as a city to live in.
